I made these as a surprise for Jake a little while back. I have a picture of him with the creme all over his beard but I decided not to send that out into the internet :)
I read up on making creme puffs and everyone has a different trick to making them so I compiled a few of the recipes and tricks I read about and just kinda did my own thing. I should have written the recipe down but I didn't.
The filling was basically just whipped cream with Nutella added. I also whipped that up myself without a solid recipe. Whipped creme is pretty basic.
They really puffed up a lot bigger than I thought and they were hard to get a good bite out of without getting messy (hence the creamy beard) so in the future I will make them smaller.
Creme puffs to me are a lighthearted and fun desert. The fluffy puff plus the sweet filling-- it's awesome.
They are the perfect desert if you don't want something too heavy or two sweet. (only we ended up eating a lot of them so they ended up being kinda heavy. haha).
I would recommend playing around with creme puffs for sure. They really are a fun treat.
